Following successful share transfer, the Cavendish Fluor Partnership has become the new Parent Body Organisation and has taken ownership of Magnox Ltd and RSRL (Research Sites Restoration Limited), the Site Licence Companies for 12 nuclear sites in the UK.
We have an opportunity for a skilled Manual Jig Borer/Tool Room Machinist to operate a sip Hydroptic 6 Vertical Borer and Dixi Horizontal jig mill, machining Nuclear and Aerospace components to a very high standard within our manufacturing business.


This role is focussed on delivering technical solutions that robustly supports the development and delivery of vital plans for UK &International markets. We require the successful applicant to be able to demonstrate an understanding and have considerable experience of:
Working on high precision safety critical components to very high tolerances
Production engineering processes – maintaining them efficiently and effectively while also developing ideas for continuous improvement
Ensuring accuracy and monitoring of issues including breakdowns, related to machinery and tooling
Coordinating engineering change activity ensuring routings, programmes and workshop paperwork is maintained at drawing issue
Developing good relationships with colleagues and stakeholders/customers
Contributes ideas for change to improve performance and helps others adapt to change
Personal
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to develop relationships and maintain an effective network. Results orientated with a team-centred approach, they must be decisive with a flexibility to adapt to changing needs and have an analytical approach with a “can do” problem solving ability.
Education & Training
A qualified or ‘time served’ Machinist or an accredited Apprentice with NVQ or equivalent Experience in a highly regulated medium sized engineering environment is essential Experience of cylindrical, surface and cutter grinding would be advantageous
